Advancing MITRE ATLAS Through Collaborative R&D
AI systems are now part of critical infrastructure, business operations, and security tooling itself. Adversaries have taken notice. MITRE ATLAS™ (Adversarial Threat Landscape for Artificial Intelligence Systems) maps how adversaries target the threat landscape of AI systems, including the underlying models, data, supporting infrastructure, supply chain, and deployment pipelines that make up these systems, using real-world observations and structured research.
MITRE’s Center for Threat-Informed Defense (CTID) launched the Secure AI project in 2024 to provide CTID members an opportunity to inform and strengthen ATLAS. This successful partnership is now an enduring effort.

Marrisa Dotter
Lead AI Engineer
Marissa Dotter is a Lead AI Engineer at MITRE with deep experience in developing and applying AI across multiple mission domains as well as securing AI-integrated systems. Marissa has led advanced research developing rigorous, mission-focused offensive cyber benchmarks for AI systems, developed plugins to MITRE Caldera to enable Tactics and Techniques described in MITRE ATLAS™, and has continued to be one of the core developers and maintainers of the MITRE ATLAS™ framework for quantifying cyber-attacks against AI-enabled systems. She is the project lead for MITRE’s Center for Threat-Informed Defense project, Secure AI.
Jonathan Baker
VP, Threat-Informed Defense
Jon is Vice President of Threat‑Informed Defense at AttackIQ, where he leads efforts to help organizations transform security operations through Threat‑Informed Defense and Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM). His work focuses on defining how CTEM is applied in practice and helping security teams adopt disciplined, outcome‑driven approaches that improve security effectiveness at scale.
Previously, Jon was the Director and Co‑Founder of MITRE’s Center for Threat‑Informed Defense, where he built a global community that defined and advanced threat‑informed defense through collaborative R&D. The Center played a foundational role in maturing threat‑informed defense from concept to operational discipline.
Jon once led MITRE’s Cyber Threat Intelligence and Adversary Emulation Department, overseeing MITRE ATT&CK® and CALDERA, and contributed to the development of foundational cybersecurity standards including STIX, TAXII, and OVAL.
Andrés Murillo

Dr. Andrés Murillo is a Senior Research Manager at Fujitsu Research of Europe (FRE), where he leads key components of Fujitsu’s “Multi-AI Agents for Cybersecurity” program, advancing agentic AI and digital twins to strengthen organizational defense. He is part of the Fujitsu team on MITRE’s Center for Threat-Informed Defense projects, Attack Flow and Secure AI.

He previously spent nearly a decade at a Big Four advisory firm, served as a lead digital forensics investigator on major Singapore fraud and cyber cases, and held a lead technologist role at a management and IT consulting firm.
